AdMeter by MAS

Privacy Policy

Privacy information for AdMeter by MAS.

AdMeter counts and blocks supported advertising placements, auto-skips supported YouTube ads, and repairs certain empty ad layouts locally. MAS account connection is optional.

Browsing information processed locally

AdMeter processes page elements and supported YouTube/Facebook response objects needed to recognize and remove advertising placements, such as sponsored labels, ad-container attributes, provider domains, placement types, ad renderer keys, and YouTube advertising states. Response contents and advertising payloads are not retained or uploaded. The extension stores aggregate counts, conservative time-saved totals, provider names, format categories, timestamps, confidence values, website hostnames, and a limited local developer log.

Browsing information not uploaded

AdMeter does not upload its ad-exposure report, page-content archive, passwords, form entries, payment details, private messages, complete browsing history, advertising identifiers, or precise location to MAS. Report and settings data are stored with chrome.storage.local on the browser profile.

MAS account and rule updates

AdMeter communicates with https://makeanythingsimple.com for enabled rule updates and optional account authentication. Public rule-update requests include the extension version and rule schema version; they do not send an installation identifier, account token, browsing report or page content. When you choose to connect an account, authentication requests include an installation identifier and may also include the Chrome extension ID, browser user-agent metadata and authentication tokens. MAS returns account information such as name/email and applicable plan/features. Standard server logs may contain IP address, user agent, request time and response status. You can disable filter updates in dashboard Settings without disconnecting your account. Local blocking works without a paid account.

Limited Use

AdMeter's use of information adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the described local ad detection, blocking, reports, filter updates and optional account connection. AdMeter does not sell user data, use it for advertising targeting, or transfer it to data brokers, credit agencies or lenders.

Ad blocking and website access

Blocking uses Chrome Manifest V3 declarative network request rules, validated MAS JSON rules, local page-level detection, and local response filtering for supported YouTube/Facebook ad objects. Counters report detected placements rather than every network request Chrome prevents. Time saved is added only when a removed response has a usable ad duration. Data saved is an estimate; loading speed is not measured. AdMeter requests access to web pages because its core purpose requires recognizing advertising placements on sites you visit. Chrome internal pages and other restricted pages cannot be inspected.

User controls and retention

You can enable or disable blocking and YouTube auto-skip; pause protection globally, on a website, or on a page path; use Element Remover; manage rule updates; reset, export, or delete local reports; and connect or disconnect an optional MAS account. AdMeter keeps up to 30 daily aggregate summaries in local browser storage. Authentication/session records follow MAS account systems and can be invalidated by disconnecting the extension or account/device access.

Remote code

AdMeter does not download or execute remote JavaScript or other remotely hosted extension code. MAS responses provide account data and validated JSON network rules, cosmetic selectors, and safe-site lists. Filtering logic is packaged with the extension.
